I owe you a summer!

Hi. This is the first Saint Kay Media Newsletter, which means I owe you a summer.

Here's what happened: we took my grandmother Mary's ashes back to Liverpool and flung her into the wind that immediately tried to give her back. We went to the World Cup six times, which is five more times than any sane person should see grown men weep over a ball. We moved into a new home, a new office, and launched a podcast. I flew to Spain because my middle son was injured and needed mom to come make soup, then to France because my sister-in-law turned 40 and required Champagne. I consider both emergencies equally urgent. England gave me a play so inspiring I cried in a room full of strangers wearing cashmere. New York gave us a podcast convention where everyone was named Josh and a musical, Lost Boys, that brought back memories of my youth in Santa Cruz. We attended Running Man in Atlanta, which gave me a blister the size of a Junior Mint and a half marathon run in weather that couldn't decide between monsoon and sauna. We met an amazing young woman named Brooke, the first woman to skateboard across America. I made the mistake of bringing home Dr. Doug's magnesium cream, and now my husband cannot sleep without it, and I am required to rub it on his feet every night. I have created a monster with very soft heels. Then we threw a party where a man named Kevin, whom none of us had ever met, drank two bottles of wine (the good bottles ), and ate an entire pizza meant for eight people while maintaining direct eye contact with me the entire time. And somewhere in all that, a million people watched something we made on the Kylen and Kenda podcast. We'll share it all in our upcoming posts. Read one or read them all. I won't know.

I'd like to say they will be shorter going forward, but I would be a liar. My husband says I can never give a short answer. Reply if you want. I read them all, even the ones that just say "unsubscribe" in all caps.
